The Early Childhood Center (ECC) at Westchester Reform Temple offers programs for infants through four year-olds. Licensed by N.Y.S. Department of Children and Family Services, all classes are staffed by certified teachers and experienced teaching assistants.  Class size is small and the teacher to child ratio is high.  Our Summer Play Place offers a six week session.

ECC “Tour of Israel” Playground

We are happy to announce the opening of the new ECC playground as part of our Lech Lecha renewal initiative. The playground, located in a wonderfully green and spacious area on the Saxon Woods side of the new Sanctuary, is open during ECC hours and can be reached by a path behind the spiritual garden outside the Sanctuary’s east window.

In true WRT tradition, the playground will also be a learning experience. When we dedicate it next spring, it’s official name will be the “Tour of Israel Playground” and a map will indicate the Israeli locations of each element of the playground.  With a little imagination, our ECC children will get a tour of Israel while they play.

The entire large play structure will be the Eilat Energy Center while the smaller play structure will be the Haifa Happening Center. The playground will be surrounded by The Good Neighbor Fence and children will be riding on the Tel Aviv Bus (which also has Tel Aviv Bus Wheels of Good Fortune).  The berms around the playground are the Hills of Jerusalem, and the large sand-box is the Negev Sand Box. The large structure incorporates the Bridge of Peace and our little ones will be able to climb Jacob’s Ladder to reach the Golan Heights (the highest section of the large structure). Both activity centers are covered by Tel Aviv Beach Umbrellas, and the children are already enjoying the Jordan River Slides and the Haifa Hill Climb

Each of the above locations is also a naming opportunity for those who want to support the playground initiative out of a love for children or a love for Israel.  Please call or write Yoel in the WRT office to discuss opportunities that are still available.
