Fund for Innovation in Jewish Life
The Rabbi Richard J. Jacobs and Susan K. Freedman Fund
for Innovation in Jewish Life
“…teach us to number our days so that we may attain a heart of wisdom.”
- Psalms
The Rabbi Richard J. Jacobs and Susan K. Freedman Fund for Innovation in Jewish Life was established to recognize the distinguished leadership and extraordinary commitment of Rabbi Jacobs and his family to Jewish life at Westchester Reform Temple and beyond. Throughout his 20 visionary years with our community, we have been inspired to live the lessons and traditions of Judaism, to learn and think deeply, to repair our world, to stand steadfastly with Israel, and to care for one another and the world around us.
The Fund is a tribute to Rabbi Jacobs and his family and an opportunity to support the future of WRT. It sustains the mission and pillars of our community in good and in challenging financial times. It guarantees the continued support of the high quality programming, classes, lectures and speakers that are the hallmark of our congregation. It provides opportunities to develop new and experimental formats for prayer, study and meaningful life cycle events. This fund provides the foundation for ensuring the legacy of Rabbi Jacobs while strengthening the new leadership of our wonderful clergy team.
