Sorel Goldberg Loeb first came to Westchester Reform Temple as the Director of the Early Childhood Center in 1994 and has been the Director of Lifelong Learning since 1999. Starting as a Jewish educator while still attending the University of Toronto, she has worked in diverse educational settings, teaching virtually every grade and directing Religious Schools in Mansfield, Ohio, and Suffern, NY, as well as acting as the founding director of Mentsch Makers Preschool in Monroe, NY. Sorel recently completed her second term on the board of the National Association of Temple Educators and was the co-chair of the Joint Symposium on Gender and Jewish Education preceding the Union of Reform Judaism Biennial Conference in San Diego in 2007. She has served as an educational consultant to the Reimagine Project, working with congregations in the New York area to envision and implement new models of Jewish education, and has authored several teacher resources and curricula including “Teaching Torah – A Treasury of Insights and Activities.” Sorel is married to Rabbi Gary Loeb, who serves the Monroe Temple - Beth El. They are the proud parents of two grown children.
