WRT's Sister Congregations

WRT rejoices in its strong connections in the Westchester community, Israel and around the world.

Greater Centennial African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church, Mt. Vernon, NY
Greater Centennial African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church is a congregation of believers called by God to provide a holistic ministry to the community. They advocate the spiritual, educational, and economic empowerment of all people.  Led by Reverend Dr. W. Darin Moore, Pastor, since 1993, he has come to embody John Maxwell’s essentials of leadership - vision, ability, and integrity.  Rev. Dr. Moore and his community are partners in Westchester United efforts and are honored guests each year at our Martin Luther King, Jr. Shabbat.  For more: http://www.greatercentennial.org/

Kehilat Mevasseret Zion, Israel
Kehillat Mevasseret Zion (Kamatz) is located in the Judean Hills overlooking the western approach to Jerusalem. Kamatz is a place of learning, spirituality, celebration and joy that is modern and fully integrated into the everyday Israeli experience. Founded in 1993 by six families, it is now home to over 200 member families, in addition to hundreds of participants who join regularly in our multi-faceted programs, services and activities.  Kamatz is led by Rabbi Maya Leibovich, the first Israeli born woman ordained in Israel. Under her loving and inspired guidance, it has become a leading force in the struggle for a pluralistic, compassionate, just and liberal Israel.  For more:  http://www.kamatz.org/en

Comunidad Amijai, Argentina
The Amijai Community in Buenos Aires, Argentina had its first religious service in March of 1993 in the Magna Classroom of the Latin American Rabbinical Seminary.  Little by little the congregation grew, and today Amijai has 160 families, with an attendance at Kabbalat Shabbat of 350 people.  Rabino Dario Feiguin is Rabbi of Comunidad Amijai. Together with a band of spectacular musicians from Amijai, he is an annual guest at WRT during Shabbat Shirah, bringing the music of Jewish Argentina, and a message of struggle and hope from Argentina's large but beleaguered Jewish community.  For more:  http://www.amijai.org/amijai.php

Association of Progressive Jewish Congregations, Ukraine
WRT supports the work of The World Union for Progressive Judaism (WUPJ). The World Union is proud to be playing a major role in the historic renewal of Jewish life for millions of Jews living in the former Soviet Union. After over 70 years of Communism, religious oppression and persecution, Jewish communities have once again become vibrant with the World Union's assistance.
