Healing Prayer (Mi Shebeirach) List

The Mi Shebeirach prayer, recited weekly at our Friday night services, offers comfort, encouragement, and strength in times of illness and personal challenge. It is our sacred honor to surround your loved ones with spiritual care by lifting up their names during the recitation of this communal prayer.

To maintain the integrity of the Mi Shebeirach list, we have made a small but important change beginning in May 2025:

  • At that time, we began a new list.
  • Going forward, names will remain on the list for one month. If you would like a name to remain on the list longer, please resubmit the request or contact our office for an extension of another month.

These changes are designed to ensure that the Mi Shebeirach list remains accurate. We have found that names sometimes remain on the list longer than necessary, or families may not realize their loved ones’ names are still being recited, even after their healing and recovery. By updating the list monthly and requesting intentional resubmissions, we can offer our heartfelt prayers for those who need them, while respecting the dignity and privacy of our congregants and their loved ones.

To help us serve you and your loved ones, we ask you to:

  • Submit names only if you are a family member or have the person’s permission.
  • Let us know if someone wishes to remain anonymous by providing their Hebrew name and their mother’s Hebrew name, if you know it.

We understand that navigating illness can feel overwhelming. Our clergy are here to support and sustain you during these challenging times.

If you have any questions or need assistance submitting a name, please contact us at Healing@wrtemple.org. Together, let’s continue to build a community of healing and compassion.

May the Holy One grant healing to all who need it and support to those who strengthen them.
